Research Associate III

The Research Associate III position will be responsible for contributing to the development of new cell lines and new assays using cutting edge technologies in cell manipulation and genetic engineering. Appropriate candidates will have practical experience with cell culture, cell-based assays and preferably with protein production and purification. The associate will be expected to complete scientific and technical tasks on aggressive timelines and to work as part of a team on varied tasks with changing priorities. Position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, a documented ability to troubleshoot technical issues, an ability to plan and carry out experiments independently, and to work with complex instrumentation and software.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Research Associate III position will be responsible for contributing to the development of new cell lines and new assays using cutting edge technologies in cell manipulation and genetic engineering. Appropriate candidates will have practical experience with cell culture, cell-based assays and preferably with protein production and purification. The associate will be expected to complete scientific and technical tasks on aggressive timelines and to work as part of a team on varied tasks with changing priorities. Position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, a documented ability to troubleshoot technical issues, an ability to plan and carry out experiments independently, and to work with complex instrumentation and software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execution of cell line development projects, including bioproduction cell lines
  • Contribute to the development of novel image-based cellular assays
  • Timely documentation of laboratory work
  • Present work in regular project update meeting

RESPONSIBILITY
 

                                    Reports to: Scientist, Cell Line and Tissue Development
                                   Supervisory: No 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • M.S. preferred in Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related fields
  • Extensive expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques
  • Expert proficiency with microscopy, fluorescent assays and related instrumentation
  • Experience with bioproduction cell lines

DESIRED KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Practical knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology, and cell-based assays
  • Strong writing and experimental documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in cell culture process development and automation.
  • Ability to efficiently manage tasks and adjust rapidly to changing environmental priorities.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently on various types of tasks
