Neurospora & Agaricus Platforms


The Neurospora platform is a fungal-based expression host system for protein production.  This fast and cost-effective production technology utilizes the filamentous fungus Neurospora crassa (red bread-mold), which has a well-annotated haploid genome allowing for simple mutation and ease in genetic engineering. Neurospora is known for its fast cell growth and extremely high rate of protein secretion, taking only 12 weeks to develop from gene to product.

The Agaricus platform is a mushroom-based expression host system for protein production and crop trait development.  This proprietary technology enables improvements in button mushroom crop trait development, including yield, disease, and quality traits.  Additionally, button mushrooms allow for efficient gene transfer and genetic manipulation and can also be utilized as biofactories to produce biological molecules at large scale.
